Shipping plays an important role in the business model of an online-based store. Controlling some aspects of shipping is hugely beneficial for you as a business owner. However, it is also beneficial for your customers.
Shipping Rule
With WholesaleX’s dynamic rules, you can set shipping rules that are financially sound for your business while also incentivizing your customers.
This guide will show you how you can set up shipping for your online store.
Step 1: Create a New Rule
From your WordPress dashboard, Click on WholesaleX. Now, you have to go to dynamic rules to create a rule for a cart discount. So, let’s go there, and from the dropdown menu, select the Dynamic Rules option. This will bring up a new window where you can create a rule. Now, click the Create Dynamic Rule option and click the untitled Rule to expand further.
- Go to the WordPress dashboard.
- Click on WholesaleX.
- Click on Dynamic Rules.
- Click on the “Create Dynamic Rule” button.
Step 2: Name the Rule
Now, we need to name the rule, which will help you easily find it. So let’s name it from the rule title box. Once you enter the name, you’ll see the untitled rule has changed to the name you have given. In this case, it is a Shipping Method.
- Enter the name of the rule.
Step 3: Select Shipping Rule
WholesaleX offers various functionality features for your store. This guide is about shipping, so select Shipping Rule from the Rule Type dropdown menu.
- Select the Shipping Rule from the “Rule Type” dropdown menu.
Step 4: Select User/Role
It is time to select for which user or user roles this rule will be applied. Now, from the dropdown menu, select the option which best meets your requirements. WholesaleX lets you select All Users, All Roles, Specific Users, or Specific Roles.
- Select your preferred user/role from the “User/Role” dropdown menu.
Step 5: Selecting Product (Product Filtering)
From the dropdown menu, select the product filter to which you would like to apply the shipping method. As not just user roles and users, your shipping methods can be product-specific, so you need to select them for effortless shipping processing.
- Select your preferred product filter from the “Product Filter” dropdown menu.
Step 6: Select Shipping Zone
Now, we need to select the shipping zone to which our rules will apply. Depending on distance, cost, and the product, you can select the zone based on the criteria best suited for your business.
- Select the shipping zone.
Step 7: Select the Shipping Zone Method
After selecting our shipping zone, we now need to select the shipping method. It can be Free Shipping, Flat Rates, or Local Pick Up. You can set free shipping for your premium products or customers to incentivize them. With flat rates, the customer will have to pay shipping charges. Or, you can also set it up as a local pick-up so your customers can pick up the products from a specified location.
- Select the shipping zone method.
Step 8: Additional conditions
You can apply additional conditions to improve your shipping method further. You can set multiple variations of conditions, such as Free Shipping based on cart total, cart quantity, etc.
- Set additional conditions if needed.
Disclaimer: Conditions are optional, but if any conditions exist for a specific dynamic rule, then for applying the rule, conditions must be fulfilled.
Step 9: Selecting Date and Limit
You can select the Start Date and End Date, which define the date users can get this functionality with WholesaleX. This setting is for time-limited offers, and you can conveniently select the time and date for the offer to show up. You can also create the offer beforehand, so you don’t have to worry about setting a new shipping rule on a specific day.
- Set the duration and limit if needed.
Step 10: Activate and Save Rule
After you’re done with your shipping rule setup, you need to save it and activate it. Simply toggle the rule status bar and click save to save and activate your shipping rule.
- Click on the save button.
- Toggle the rule status to activate the rule.
You can update the Shipping Rule at your convenience using the dynamic rule feature of WholesaleX.
