How to Import and Export Wholesale Prices Using CSV in WholesaleX

WholesaleX works with the default WooCommerce product CSV importer and exporter, allowing you to manage role-based wholesale prices for multiple products from a CSV file.

When you create B2B user roles in WholesaleX, you can assign different product prices to each role. Instead of opening and editing products one by one, you can export your products, update the WholesaleX pricing data in a spreadsheet, and import the updated CSV back into WooCommerce.

This guide focuses on updating existing products.

Note: Product-level tier pricing requires WholesaleX Pro. If you only use supported Base Price or Sale Price fields, follow the options available in your current WholesaleX setup.

Before You Start

Make sure that:

  • WooCommerce is installed and activated.
  • WholesaleX is installed and activated.
  • WholesaleX Pro is activated if you want to import or export product-level tier pricing.
  • Your required B2B user roles have already been created.
  • The products you want to update already exist in WooCommerce.

For example, your B2B roles might include:

  • Level 1
  • Level 2
  • Gold

WholesaleX can store separate role-based pricing for these user roles.

This guide primarily covers simple products. If you work with variable products, their pricing data may need to be managed through the corresponding variation rows.

Step 1: Configure One Product as a Reference

Before editing pricing directly in a CSV file, configure at least one product manually in WholesaleX.

Go to:

WordPress Dashboard → Products → All Products

Edit a product and locate the WholesaleX pricing options.

Select the B2B user role you want to configure. Depending on your WholesaleX setup, available pricing options can include:

  • Base Price
  • Sale Price
  • Tier Price

For example, you could configure the Level 1 role with:

  • Base Price: $80
  • Sale Price: $70
  • Tier Pricing:
    • 10+ items → $65
    • 20+ items → $60

Update the product after adding the prices.

Why configure one product first?

Exporting a correctly configured product gives you a reliable reference for how WholesaleX stores its pricing data in the WooCommerce CSV.

This is especially useful for tier pricing, where multiple quantity and price values may be stored in a specific format.

Step 2: Export Your Products

Then select the product and click Export.

WooCommerce will open the product export screen. Make sure you’re exporting all columns and then click: Generate CSV.

WooCommerce will generate the CSV file.

Step 3: Review the WholesaleX Pricing Data

Open the exported CSV using a spreadsheet application such as:

  • Microsoft Excel
  • Google Sheets
  • LibreOffice Calc
  • Another CSV-compatible editor

Locate the WholesaleX pricing data for the product you configured in Step 1.

You should be able to identify the role-based pricing fields associated with your B2B user roles.

For example, the exported data may contain fields representing:

  • Base Price
  • Sale Price
  • Tier Price

for roles such as Level 1, Level 2, or Gold.

Important: Use the column names and values from your actual exported CSV as the reference. WholesaleX versions, role configuration, and WooCommerce export settings may affect how these fields appear.

Step 4: Add or Update Wholesale Prices

Find the products you want to update and edit the relevant WholesaleX pricing fields.

For example:

ProductRegular PriceLevel 1 Base PriceLevel 1 Sale Price
Product A$100$80$70
Product B$150$120$110
Product C$200$160$145

If you have multiple B2B user roles, update the corresponding pricing data for each role as needed.

You can use this process to bulk update:

  • Base Prices
  • Sale Prices
  • Tier Prices
  • Prices for multiple B2B user roles

Updating Tier Pricing

For tier pricing, use the value exported from the reference product you configured earlier to understand the required structure.

Do not manually invent the tier-pricing format.

Instead:

  1. Configure a working tier price in WholesaleX.
  2. Export that product.
  3. Review the exported tier-pricing value.
  4. Use the same structure when updating other products.

This reduces the risk of formatting errors during import.

Be Careful When Editing the CSV

If your goal is only to update WholesaleX pricing, avoid changing unrelated product information unnecessarily.

In particular, be careful with identifiers such as:

  • Product ID
  • SKU

WooCommerce uses product identification data to determine which existing product should be updated.

Step 5: Save and Import the Updated CSV

After updating the required prices, save or export the spreadsheet as a CSV file.

We recommend keeping a backup of the original exported CSV before importing your changes.

Now go to:

WordPress Dashboard → Products → All Products

Click Import.

Upload the updated CSV file. Because you are modifying products that already exist in your store, enable: Update existing products

Then click Continue.

Step 6: Review the Column Mapping

WooCommerce will display the Column Mapping screen before running the import.

Review the mappings carefully.

Make sure the WholesaleX pricing data from your CSV is mapped to the corresponding WholesaleX fields.

Depending on the pricing options included in your CSV, this can include:

  • Base Price
  • Sale Price
  • Tier Price

and pricing associated with your different B2B user roles.

Once the mappings are correct, click: Run the Importer

WooCommerce will process the CSV and update the matching products.

Step 7: Verify the Imported Wholesale Prices

After the import finishes, verify a few products before relying on the bulk update across your store.

Go to the editorial view of the updated product.

Open the WholesaleX pricing section and check whether the imported values are correct.

Verify the relevant:

  • Base Price
  • Sale Price
  • Tier Price
  • B2B user role

Recommended Workflow

For the safest bulk-pricing workflow:

  1. Configure one product manually.
  2. Export it from WooCommerce.
  3. Use its WholesaleX pricing data as your CSV reference.
  4. Update the remaining products.
  5. Import the CSV with Update existing products enabled.
  6. Verify several products after the import.

Using an exported product as your template is particularly important when working with tier pricing or multiple B2B user roles.
