Plugin Update

Keeping WholesaleX up to date ensures you receive the latest features, performance improvements, compatibility updates, bug fixes, and security enhancements.

Updating the plugin does not remove your existing wholesale roles, pricing rules, registration forms, conversations, or plugin settings. However, creating a backup before any update is always recommended.

Update the Free Version

If you installed the free version of WholesaleX from the WordPress plugin repository, you can update it directly from your WordPress dashboard.

Method 1: Update from the Dashboard

When a new version is available, WordPress will display an update notification.

  1. Go to Dashboard → Updates
  2. Locate WholesaleX in the plugin list
  3. Select the plugin
  4. Click Update Plugins

Method 2: Update from the Plugins Page

You can also update the plugin from the Installed Plugins screen.

  1. Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins
  2. Locate WholesaleX
  3. Click Update Now when an update is available

Update the Pro Version

WholesaleX Pro can be updated automatically or manually depending on your license activation status.

Method 1: Automatic Update

If your license is activated, WordPress will notify you whenever a new Pro version is available.

  1. Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins
  2. Locate WholesaleX Pro
  3. Click Update Now when prompted

Method 2: Manual Update

If automatic updates are unavailable, you can manually install the latest version.

  1. Download the latest WholesaleX Pro ZIP file from your WPXPO account
  2. Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin
  3. Click Upload Plugin
  4. Upload the latest ZIP file
  5. Click Install Now
  6. When prompted, select Replace current with uploaded

The update process follows the same steps as the initial Pro plugin installation.

Enable Automatic Updates (Optional)

To allow WordPress to install future updates automatically:

  1. Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins
  2. Locate WholesaleX or WholesaleX Pro
  3. Click Enable Auto-updates

WordPress will automatically install future plugin updates when they become available.

Best Practices Before Updating

Before updating WholesaleX, we recommend the following:

  • Review the changelog or release notes
  • Create a complete website backup
  • Test updates on a staging site whenever possible
  • Ensure your WordPress and WooCommerce versions are compatible with the new release
  • Verify that other plugins and customizations do not have known compatibility issues

These precautions help minimize potential disruptions, especially in live wholesale stores.
